Emergency Preparedness for Facility Managers

This course examines emergency preparedness at both a macro and micro level, from planning for an emergency to disaster recovery. Students will learn how emergency preparedness can create a more resilient organization. This course focuses on building systems and providing basic information on the following topics:

  • Emergency generators 
  • Elevators and escalators 
  • Fire protection and hazardous materials 
  • Indoor air quality 
  • Weather preparedness and natural disasters 
  • Infectious disease 
  • Physical security 
  • Lockout-tagout 
  • Water disruption 
  • Terrorism

  • Roles and responsibilities 
  • Factors and strategies for mitigation 
  • Damage assessment 
  • Comprehensive training programs

In order to earn your Certificate of Attendance, you must attend 80% of the online sessions and complete all required assignments (as assigned by your instructor).
