Risk Management

Successfully Manage Risk in the Federal Arena

Federal professionals can add value to their organization by earning the Risk Management Society’s Certified Risk Management Professional for Federal Government (RIMS-CRMP-FED) credential.

The credential verifies to all employers and partners you work with that you have achieved the level of expertise, education, and experience required to successfully manage risk and support decision-making in the federal government environment.

As enterprise risk management (ERM) — a strategy to identify and prepare for hazards with a company’s finances, operations, and objectives — continues to grow in importance in the federal government and builds upon the Office of Management and Budget’s 2016 update of Circular No. A-123, this skillset is essential.

Earning the RIMS-CRMP prepares you for senior financial, operational, and risk management roles. The RIMS-CRMP-FED takes it one step further and validates that you have achieved the high level of expertise, education and experience required to successfully manage risk and support decision-making in the federal government environment.

Risk management professionals who earn the RIMS-CRMP-FED are dedicated to upholding the same high standards of ethical and professional conduct that apply to the core RIMS-CRMP credential.

RIMS-CRMP-FEDs may use the credential to establish credibility within their organization and among risk management professionals.

While the average risk manager salary is reported to be $89,693 a year according to Payscale, RIMS reports that full-time risk professionals with the RIMS-CRMP certification earn nearly $16,000 more annually than non–RIMS-CRMP holders.
